A committed omnivore, I am the type of person who will eat anything once– if only for the privilege of critiquing it.
I was raised in Washington D.C, have lived in Philadelphia, London and New York, and have had the pleasure of eating my way all over the world. I am currently a resident of Dubai where I find that every day is a culinary adventure. I have yet to meet a raw ingredient I dislike and firmly believe that there is no bad food, only bad preparation.
After a career in non-profit management, I started this blog as an outlet for my sybaritic tendencies. The essence of such inner conflict is best expressed by E.B. White in the following quote:
“If the world were merely seductive, that would be easy. If it were merely challenging, that would be no problem. But I arise in the morning torn between a desire to save the world and a desire to savor the world. This makes it hard to plan the day.”
